Planning Department
The Planning Department provides assistance to town officials and departments and to the Charlestown Planning Commission and other town boards as needed on community planning related matters, including comprehensive planning and land use and environmental regulations.
The Planning Department is responsible for the preparation and update of the Comprehensive Plan, a document that serves to guide town development.
The Planning Department also
coordinates the review and approval of subdivisions and nonresidential developments.
