Beloved Animal Control Officer Kathy McA’Nulty Passed Away on Tuesday, September 23rd
It is with deep sadness that the Town shares the news of the passing of our beloved longtime Animal Control Officer, Kathy McA’Nulty. Kathy passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 23rd, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Kathy dedicated 36 years of service to the Town, during which time she made an immeasurable impact through her unwavering compassion and tireless care for animals. Her love for those in her charge was evident in everything she did, and she touched the lives of countless people and pets alike.
Even during her courageous battle with cancer, Kathy continued to work each day with the same quiet strength and devotion that defined her. She was a very private person, and although she faced significant struggles, she carried on with grace and determination, never allowing her own challenges to interfere with the care and love she gave to the animals. Her passion for her work and the wellbeing of every animal she encountered remained her guiding force.
From the very beginning, Kathy was the driving force behind the creation of the beautiful Animal Shelter we have today. Her vision, determination, and steadfast advocacy made it a reality and a lasting part of her legacy.
Those who knew Kathy knew that her heart was always with the animals. Her work was never just a job; it was a calling. The Town is forever grateful for her extraordinary dedication, her kindness, and her selfless service.
Kathy was truly one of a kind, special in every way, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.
