Richard "Rippy" Serra Obituary

Richard "Rippy" Serra, 64, beloved husband of Camelia (Rizzo) Serra, of South County Trail, Charlestown, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 8, 2025.
Born in Westerly, he was the son of the late Barbara and Matthew Serra.
Rippy leaves his loving wife Cammi; their four children, Brian Q. Serra (Haley), Richard C. Serra II, Nathan J. Serra (Linny), and Rachel A. Serra; his four siblings, Mathew Serra, Jr., Mark Serra, Suann Serra and Jean Shields; as well as three cherished grandchildren, Maisie, Easton and Isla Serra; several nieces and nephews, as well as numerous friends.
Rippy was the owner and operator of Rippy's Liquor and Marketplace for over 40 years, the V.P. of the Charlestown Town Council, as well as a member of the Groton Bible Chapel. He was a lifetime public servant who was committed and devoted to serving the Charlestown community. He was also a lover of trains, big and small.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 14th from 4pm – 7pm at Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Family and friends are also invited to a Funeral Service at 10am on Friday, August 15th in the funeral home. Burial will be private.
