Charlestown Naval Auxiliary Landing Field – Project 09 Update

The Look Ahead Schedule for Charlestown Naval Auxiliary Landing Field (Project 09) outlines planned field activities from December 8–19, 2025. During the first week, work includes well development in the Water Supply Well Area (WSWA), monitoring well installations at the Ninigret Wildlife Refuge Landfill (NWRL), relocating timber mats, additional well development across multiple landfill areas, and surface and pore water sampling at wetland sites. In the second week, crews will continue installing and developing monitoring wells at NWRL, WSWA, and the Eastern Area Landfill (EAL), along with ongoing water sampling at various wetland and background locations. Timber mat roads will be removed from project sites, and liquid investigative-derived waste will be collected for disposal mid-week.
