Current Status of Wastewater Management In Charlestown

The creation of an inventory of septic systems in Charlestown has been on-going. This graph identifies septic
system types in Charlestown over time from 2008 through 2021. "Total Septic Tanks" refers to the number of
Total Conventional Septic Systems (Not Advanced/Denitrification Systems) divided by 10, to better fit the graph. 
Unknown systems represent those systems that have not completed the First Maintenance Inspection
requirement.

 

This pie chart identifies the current breakdown of all types of septic systems currently in use in
Charlestown as of February 2021.




The charts below originate from the Office of Wastewater Management's Annual Report for the Calendar year
ending 2020 (January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020). The data indicate a sub-set of the work completed
by the Office in 2020 and provide a status of the program.
