Cross' Mills Library - Interior Renovations

The Town of Charlestown is soliciting Proposals to provide commercial construction services for renovations to the Cross’ Mills Public Library. The Town is seeking the services of a professional construction company to provide all levels of construction to complete “turn-key” renovation to the Cross’ Mills Public Library.

The following is a partial list of elements of the addition/renovation project.

 Rough and Finish Carpentry

 Millwork

 Doors, Frames and Hardware

 Glass and Glazing

 Finish Upgrades

 Conveying Equipment

 Electrical Updates

 HVAC Updates

 

The Cross’ Mills Public Library is located at 4417 Old Post Rd, Charlestown, RI 02813-0909

 

The town is requesting a proposal to provide full and complete commercial construction services for interior renovations of the Cross’ Mills Public Library. The proposal should provide costs for a “turn key” renovation.

 

A selection committee will review and evaluate proposals. Evaluations will be based on the written proposals, and interviews if required. The three highest ranked firms may be asked to make an oral presentation to the committee and representatives of the Library. Upon final selection, the successful commercial construction firm will be notified, will receive a notice to proceed, which will be followed by a negotiated contract. If for any reason a contract cannot be completed, the Town and Library will negotiate with the second ranked firm.

 

1. Competence to perform all aspects of the commercial construction project as reflected by technical evaluation and training, general experience, experience on previous similar projects, and the qualifications of team members proposed to be assigned to the project.

2. Ability to perform services, on a timeline constant with the library’s schedule. This work will be preformed in an occupied building.

3. Recent experience on similar projects. For each project that your firm has completed within the last five years, detail type of project, timetable, schedule for completion, names and telephone numbers of persons representing the owner or municipality. Indicate the individuals on your staff who had responsibility for each project and whether or not these individuals are still employed by your firm.

4. Past performance as reflected by references of private persons, clients, and officials of government agencies that have retained the services of your firm. Demonstrated accomplishments are key components.

5. Professional resume and experience of all contractors to be utilized in this contract must be submitted, with their role identified.

6. Any and all general and specific details that arise through the bid process.

 

All materials submitted become the property of the Town of Charlestown/Cross’s Mills Public Library and will be returned to the submitting firm at the Town's option. Any restrictions on the use of the data contained within the proposal materials must be clearly stated in the submission itself.

 

The Town of Charlestown & the Cross’ Mills Public Library is not liable for any costs incurred by firms prior to the issuance of a fully executed contract.

 

The contents of a statement of qualifications from the selected firm may all or in part become the scope of work, and, as such, contractual obligations. Failure of the selected firm to accept these obligations in a contract may result in cancellation of the awarded contract.

 

The Town reserves the right to cancel this solicitation at any time. Any and all proposals may be rejected. Additional information or verbal interviews may be requested prior to final selections.

The Town reserves the right to require the firm that is awarded the contract for services to present current certificates of insurance, (professional malpractice, liability insurance, workmen's compensation, etc.) from an insurance carrier authorized to do business in the State of Rhode Island.

The Town reserves the right to request proof of appropriate licensure.

 

Interested firms must submit five (5) copies of their complete proposals in a sealed envelope, clearly marked "RFP- Cross’ Mills Public Library – Interior Renovations" in the lower left corner of the envelope and deliver to:

Proposals must be submitted no later than March 28, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Responses received after the due date will not be opened. Electronic delivery of RFP proposals in any form is prohibited
