Mooring Service Providers
Mooring Permit holders are responsible for maintaining, and keeping all mooring tackle in good standing. Mooring inspections are required every three years by a town certified mooring service provider. Failure to have an inspection completed when required will result in violations and risk of losing the mooring permit. No vessel is to be placed on any mooring tackle where the 3 year inspection expiration date has been reached. All mooring permit holders are notified at time of permit renewals if their mooring tackle is due for an inspection.
All new mooring permits must also have mooring gear built and installed by a town certified mooring service provider before mooring permits will be approved. If mooring tackle is transferred or sold to a new owner, it must also be inspected to verify that it meets the minimum specifications for the size vessel the mooring permit holder will keep on the mooring.
