We are currently updating our “Natural Hazard Mitigation Plan in Charlestown, RI” and would like your feedback on Natural Hazards that affect Charlestown. This information will be used to help update the Plan for 2024 and set Action Items for the Town to pursue over the next five years.

CHARLESTOWN RECOMMENDED LANDSCAPER PROCESS

This process is intended to promote best management practices in lawn care and landscaping in order to protect our critically sensitive and impacted groundwater and surface water resources.

On May 1st, 2015 the Town was officially accepted into the CRS Program by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The CRS Program is a voluntary program that recognizes communities for floodplain management activities that exceed the minimum National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) standards.
