TOWN OF CHARLESTOWN RI ANNOUNCES ARPA GRANT RECIPIENTS

 

Charlestown, RI - The Town of Charlestown, the Charlestown Economic Improvement Commission, the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce and the Ocean Community of Commerce have announced the 10 organizations that were unanimously approved for $5,000 ARPA Grants. Funded through federal ARPA monies designated to the Town of Charlestown, this grant serves as a show of support to small businesses and nonprofits that endured tremendous financial hardship as a direct result of the pandemic. Thirteen applications were received, and careful consideration was given to each during the rigorous vetting process. Charlestown Early Learning Center, Charlestown Physical Therapy and Health Services, Happy Acres Peddler, LLC, Christina Capalbo, Licensed Massage Therapist DBA Hope Health Services, Neighbors Helping Neighbors Rhode Island, Paws Pet Grooming, LLC, Quonnie Oyster Company DBA Quonnie Siren Oyster, South County Habitat for Humanity, Southern Rhode Island Volunteers and Yarns Not Forgotten.

 

"We are delighted to be able to provide much deserved funding to help local small businesses and nonprofits organizations with their continued recovery and long-term sustainability. These are valued members of the Charlestown business community, and we applaud their efforts to overcome the many hurdles to success that resulted from the pandemic." said Deborah Carney, President of the Charlestown Town Council.

 

Grant checks will be issued at the individual businesses in May. Committee members will be present at ceremonial check presentations and dedicated posts announcing grants will be placed on the Town's Facebook page.

 

This program is a collaboration of several entities. Grant review committee members were Deb Carney of the Charlestown Town Council, Heather Paliotta of the Charlestown Chamber of Commerce and Craig Marr of the Charlestown Economic Improvement Commission. The grant program is being administered by Lisa Konicki of the Ocean Community Chamber of Commerce.
