CHARTER AMENDMENT PROPOSALS

 

The Charlestown Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at the Charlestown Town Hall, Council Chambers, 4540 South County Trail, Charlestown RI  2813,concerningproposalstoamendtheTownCharter.Topics to be presented and discussed include, but are not limited to: Planning Commission terms, quorum, and voting requirements; the manner of publishing new ordinances and amendments of ordinances; the allowance of small purchase amounts to be increased or decreased annually at the same rate as the Boston Regional Consumer Price Index; and the correction of multiple scrivener’s drafting errors.
